AI coding assistants — GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code and others — have moved from experiment to everyday tool. Today most developers write part of their code with AI help.
"Vibe coding" and a new workflow
A new term has appeared — "vibe coding" — where a developer describes what they want in natural language and the AI writes the implementation. This doesn't remove the engineer; it shifts the role toward reviewer and architect.

What it means for teams

- building a prototype in hours;
- automating boilerplate and tests;
- explaining and refactoring legacy code.
AI won't replace the developer — it will replace the developer who doesn't use AI with one who does.
The main challenge is quality control: AI-written code must still pass review, tests, and security checks — writing fast does not mean trusting blindly.
Which tool for whom
Several strong tools exist today, each with its own strength: Copilot sits deep inside the IDE, Cursor "sees" the whole project, and Claude Code solves complex, multi-file tasks. The right choice depends on the team and the project.
The best results come when the engineer uses AI as an amplifier — not as a replacement.
How teams adopt it
Successful teams adopt AI gradually: first for boilerplate and tests, then for review and documentation. Process is what matters — coding standards, security checks and human review stay mandatory.
At NovaSoft we use AI every day, but the quality bar is unchanged — you get a product built fast, yet reliable and secure.
