How We Manage Projects at Nova Soft: Agile or Waterfall?

Once the Business Requirements Document (BRD) is finalized, the actual project
implementation phase begins. In software engineering, there are two primary models of
operation, the choice of which depends on your business specifics and the scope of your project.

1. Waterfall Model - Traditional Precision
The Waterfall methodology involves a strict, phase-by-phase development process. Each
subsequent stage begins only after the previous one is fully completed.
When to Use? When the project requirements are 100% defined from the start and changes
are unlikely to occur.

Advantages: Precise forecasting of budget and timelines right at the beginning of the project.

Process: Planning - >; Design - >; Development - >; Testing - >; Launch.

2. Agile Model — Innovation and Adaptation
Agile is currently the most popular approach in the IT industry. It is based on iterations (short
cycles), allowing us to develop the product step-by-step.
When to Use? For complex projects that require rapid response to market demands and
continuous refinement of features.

Advantages: You see a working product at an early stage. Any changes can be implemented
dynamically throughout the process.

Process: Short cycles (Sprints) that include planning, coding, and immediate feedback from
the client.

Which One Do We Choose?

Our team approaches each case individually. We often use a
Hybrid Approach: we plan the fundamental parts of the project using Waterfall (for precision),
while managing the direct development and design with Agile (for flexibility).
This approach allows us to meet deadlines while creating a product that perfectly addresses real
market challenges.

Nova Soft’s Al Advice:
"Don't worry about the technical names of methodologies! Our primary goal is to make the
process as simple and clear for you as possible. At the end of every week, we provide you with a
comprehensive report on the work completed.
With us, the process is always transparent!📊✨"
